macOS Sequoia added basic window tiling, but dedicated window managers still do far more: keyboard shortcuts for halves and thirds, automatic tiling layouts and better app switching. The main choice is between a snapping tool you trigger manually and a tiling manager that arranges every window for you.
Rectangle is a free, open source snapping app with shortcuts and drag-to-edge. yabai, AeroSpace and Amethyst are tiling managers for keyboard-driven work; some yabai features require partially disabling System Integrity Protection, while AeroSpace does not. AltTab brings Windows-style window switching, and Loop resizes windows from a radial menu. All of them need Accessibility permission.
